Definition: Very cheap (inexpensive).
ex. John bought the house near the beach because it was dirt cheap.
・ In bad taste:
Definition: Rude. Vulgar. Obscene.
ex. Most of his friends felt that his joke was in bad taste.
・ Pressed for time:
Definition: In a hurry.
ex. I still have many things to do for work today. I’m a bit pressed for time.
・(A) clean bill of health:
Definition: A report from the doctor that one’s health is good; good results from a doctor’s medical examination. ex. Mary went in for her yearly physical and got a clean bill of health from the doctor.
・(To) get caught up: Definition:
To become involved, especially emotionally. ex. I just got caught up in her plan and couldn’t think straight.
・Off the air: Definition:
No longer on TV (or the radio). ex. They decided to take that show off the air in September because nobody watched it.
・(To) face the music:
Definition: To accept the (unpleasant) consequences of what you have done.
ex: A: I scratched John’s car on a wall yesterday…I have to face the music.

Definition: To exaggerate/ go too far/ to become emotional.
ex. I got carried away watching the movie last night.

Definition: Not quite even, normal.
